Housing Support (formerly Group Residential Housing or GRH) is a state-funded program that helps people with low income and/or disabilities pay for housing costs such as rent, utilities, and basic needs in approved settings.

To qualify for Housing Support in Minnesota, individuals must:

• Be 65 years of age or older, or have a documented disability.
• Meet income and asset limits as defined by the program.
• Be homeless, at risk of homelessness, or residing in an approved housing setting such as licensed adult foster care, board and lodge, or other designated supportive housing.

Housing Support is a state-funded program that helps pay for room and board in approved, licensed housing settings.

Housing Stabilization Services, on the other hand, focus on providing personalized support to help people live independently in their own homes. Instead of direct financial assistance, these services assist with tasks like finding housing, navigating paperwork, connecting with landlords, and building skills to maintain stable housing long-term.

In short, Housing Support helps cover housing costs, while Housing Stabilization helps you secure and keep housing through hands-on support.
