Housing Support
Housing Support That Works For You
Housing Support (formerly Group Residential Housing or GRH) is a state-funded program that helps eligible adults cover the cost of rent, utilities, and other approved housing expenses. If you're on a fixed income, have a disability, or need extra support to live safely in the community, this program can make stable housing more affordable — and we're here to help you access it. As a contracted Housing Support provider in Hennepin and Carver counties, Maverick Unified Services helps eligible individuals cover all or part of their housing costs, depending on their income. We work closely with clients and case managers to confirm eligibility, assist with applications, and identify appropriate housing options that accept Housing Support. Our goal is to help you maintain stable housing over the long term — offering support, guidance, and a path to greater independence.

Housing Stabilization Services are designed to help people facing housing challenges due to disabilities, mental health conditions, or other barriers find and maintain safe, stable housing. If you’re on Medical Assistance (MA) and experiencing housing instability, we’re here to make the process easier and less overwhelming.Our experienced team supports you every step of the way — from navigating paperwork and assessments to connecting you with housing that fits your unique needs. We understand the system and your situation, and we advocate for you to ensure long-term housing stability.You don’t have to face this journey alone. With Maverick, you get a partner dedicated to guiding you home and helping you stay there.

What’s the difference between Housing Support and Housing Stabilization Services?
Housing Support is a state-funded program that helps pay for room and board in approved, licensed housing settings.
Housing Stabilization Services, on the other hand, focus on providing personalized support to help people live independently in their own homes. Instead of direct financial assistance, these services assist with tasks like finding housing, navigating paperwork, connecting with landlords, and building skills to maintain stable housing long-term.
In short, Housing Support helps cover housing costs, while Housing Stabilization helps you secure and keep housing through hands-on support.
Who qualifies for Housing Support?
To qualify for Housing Support in Minnesota, individuals must:
- Be 65 years of age or older, or have a documented disability.
- Meet income and asset limits as defined by the program.
- Be homeless, at risk of homelessness, or residing in an approved housing setting such as licensed adult foster care, board and lodge, or other designated supportive housing.
How do I start services with your company?
Just submit a referral through our website or give us a call. Once we receive your information, we’ll contact you to verify eligibility and begin intake.
What insurance do you accept?
We accept Medical Assistance (MA), MinnesotaCare, and all major Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), including UCare, Hennepin Health, HealthPartners, and others.If you have questions about your insurance coverage or need help arranging an updated assessment, please contact us — we’re here to assist.
